I’m glad I had no say in the matter
of whom to love, but I choose who to like.
Sometimes I feel as mad as a hatter
or like a fish trying to ride a bike,
except when you whisper words that flatter
me and make me stammer like a wee tyke.
The heart of the matter is that we fit,
my life is much richer with you in it.
I feel like a complete jig-saw puzzle
where you fill the empty spaces in me.
The attraction is undeniable.
I think of you where ever I might be,
whether alone or someplace notable,
our perpetual love is the key.
Time has given us reason to hold on
to the idea of an eternal bond.
They say that love at first sight does not exist,
we are living proof that it really does,
feelings this deep continue to persist.
Humor and laughter keeps it fresh because
it makes youth filled joy hard to resist,
constant communication helps the buzz.
I was destined to love you from the start
because we are connected at the heart.

STraight-forward, this verse sticks to the
quote chosen without deviation.
And the words speak well of searching out
friends, rather than lovers. Friendship
being the bond that can take intimacy through
its many changes. I do question the capitals
at each start, really not necessary and a bit
out of place as some of the lines are continuations
from the one above. Thank-you very much for
rhyming this well and keeping true to the theme!
