Not for those who struggle
Not for the one with no food
Not for those in turmoil
Not for those who labor under injustice
Still it would be a shame
TO hide our shortcomings
Behind our various failures
Behind our inability to succeed.
Accountability, a word much maligned
A word very much misconstrued
A word often used to support injustice
A word so often used to support evil.
It does not matter what your status in life
Rich or poor
A success or a failure
We all should be accountable for our actions.

I liked the repetition in the second and forth stanza because they seemed to drive your point really well. What I also liked was your strong position on the topic and the finishing statement. Thank you for entering the contest!
