[I watched beauty die today]
Barren days
and endless nights
dying as I watch the sky
the hypocrites
their lullibies
drifting off to sleep
do as i say
and not as I do
follow my lead
but still remain you
is it so wrong
for a person
to have his own views
on life (?)
on death (?)
---It's a right---
{unless it conflicts with you}
right?
So many people
like to hate
what they don't understand
Pretentious little minds
pull the trigger
erase time
revelation is the upper hand
Bitter words that ring so true
pierce into the soul,
Take you back to days of old
that never let you go
So you hate the bearer
of these thoughts
once buried down so deep
To the surface they now rise
your head hanging in defeat

this is deep. and the stanza with:
"pull the trigger
erase time"
got to me the most... cause I did lose someone to suicide..

I think that was the strongest and most amazing part of this whole poem. You ended this so brilliantly. Don't get me wrong, I loved the rest of the poem, too, but this was just powerful & captivating, and suited the rest of the poem nicely. Thanks for entering & good luck ! ♥ -
