No one you love is ever gone;
they live deep in your soul.
They never wish us grief or sorrow,
they’re always on patrol.
In your heart and mind they roam,
touching us every day.
You know you’ve felt them there before,
maybe just today.
You see them when you close your eyes,
feel them when you breathe.
Touching you when you’re feeling sad,
comforting you when you seethe.
Life long memories stay with you,
through your good times and your bad.
So think about that special one,
and the great times that you had.
Find your comfort deep in them;
let them carry through tough days.
The fact they’re in your memories right now,
should awe you and amaze.
Author notes
If you find this entry too long do not judge it, but feel free to pass it along. I just could not shorten it and have it meaningful. Sorry for their loss. Do with it as you wish it was written for your friend.

This is certainly not too long, as the flow leads to the meaning intended without losing pace. A thoughtful piece of understanding to be found in the darkness that can tend to overwhelm in times of sorrow. Nicely done. Thank you for your entry!

This one is the best one I have read yet BY FAR, and quite simply is what I would have been looking for if I were the one juding this!
"They never wish us grief or sorrow,
they’re always on patrol."
