I held on for so long.
I appear strong.
When I really want to let go.
I’m desperate for you to feel what I feel,
But afraid.
I’d rather fall than be hurt again, and feel the pain.
I’m desperate to show you how I feel,
But afraid.
I don’t know what to do because, in the back of my mind, I think I might love you.
But I won’t admit it.
I’m desperate for you to love me too,
But afraid.
You don’t like me that way and I want to move on.
I’m desperate to let go, but desperate to hold on.
Desperate and afraid.
Desperate and afraid of losing you.
A pain I don’t think I could bear.

It doesn't make sense how something that is so celebrated, as the greatest thing in the world, is such a detramental and harsh cruelness.

This is a really good poem. It covers the emotions that we most often feel. The one I think I can most relate to is "You don't like me that way and I want to move on. I'm desperate to let go, but desperate to hold on." Great job!

I liked this, the repeating afraid part at the end set a nice tone to it.
