I can't believe it's over.

It’s the way
My own mother
Wants to get rid of anything
That proves you ever existed

What she doesn’t realise
Are the things I hide
The old letters, the cards, the tickets
All with your handwriting on

She doesn’t know
The way I still tell you I love you
Or the way I text you
And tell you I miss you, knowing you won’t ever say it back

It’s the way
I know you broke my heart
And it hurts so much, but part of me
Is still determined to have you and fix us

And you’ll never truly know
Of the times I’ve spent hours crying over you
And how every little thing reminds me of you
You’ll never truly know how much you broke my heart.

    Great Job!

This write truly explains how people feel after a break up, and how others can see that it may be a good thing but we still have this desire to make it work with this person. I appreciate your honesty in this write The ending summed it all up for me:

    And you’ll never truly know
Of the times I’ve spent hours crying over you
And how every little thing reminds me of you
You’ll never truly know how much you broke my heart.

They never truly know do they? thanks for entering and good luck!

    Almost perfect

Change the line that says "And how everything little thing" to "And how every little thing". I think that was an accident though, so no worries.

Other than that, it was a great piece to read. I have been suffocating in Honors Eng. work and other classes homework, that this is a great time to read.
And you were lucky candidate. Congrats, cause your poem was awesome.

Best wishes to you and good luck in the contest by Lae. :]
