Road Not Taken

In blossomed wild flower fields
under early mornings rising sun
droplets melt from dew misted leaves
as light awakens a new day begun.

Butterflies meander in warming air
honeybees on stretch petal blooms
gathering pollen for honeycomb hives
dance oblivious to evil that looms.

Life's harmony sanctuary, earth,
knows not mans tumultuous storm,
has no instincts for violent wind
not fools gust only humans perform.

There will be nothing left, one day
hate, terror, murder, mayhem and war
evil attitudes, environmental destruction
mankind's path will soon exist no more.

Yet, in all our obvious insanity
It is not the path we took and found mistaken
it is the path we could have and did nothing.
The path of sanity not taken.

I think your last stanza is a real peach. The ones before are good too, but the last one is the real gem, which is great, you always want to end with your strongest (I think). Good title - Robert Frost inspired at all?

The only bit I didn't like so much was "harmony sanctuary" the two "y", maybe harmonious sanctuary? And then you could get rid of earth, which is implied anyway so I don't think is needed.

Anyway, thank you for your entry and being patient, you did a really good job

    Isn't That The Truth

Wow how humbling this poem is to read. The beauty of nature just being in it, knowing that it is deteriorating due to the way us humans live. It is a crying shame. You penned a very soul searching poem here. I loved it and it is painfully true. The imagery is beautiful with your word choice's for nature. I love your nature writes. Although this is like I said a very humbling read and a very sad one at that. Best of luck in the contest.

    Much Love

OOh boy this is the second profound write I have read
after the laughter of your other. This also leaves me pondering in your words, and perhaps a bit of soul searching within my own thoughts.
    Very very profound.
    Thanks for sharing.
    Warm thoughts.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR KIND WORDS

The sad part is in all of us that search for truth reason and peace there are many who never consider the value of love in this world and still again more that only see weakness in kindness, but the one truth no one can change is , except wher we decrease the natural stat nature remains the same for all of us and will go on without us .
