I hid from death in a cemetary,
i met a child with bandaged eyes
pointing to a burning tree,
i swore she was the reaper disguised.
I fled and hid from death
beneath a derelict railway bridge
i met a child with burning eyes
and eternitys breath pointing
towards an oncoming train.
Death snared me on a train
decorated with moving images
of my life history,my bandaged
screams hang in the air,
a child emerges from
a burning tree her eyes
are a tattooed skelton key,
with blazing clarity i see
a valley of glass awaiting me.

i like that. i started to get into the poem cause of that line. i think thats the only great thing about this poem. i would consider some changes adding and taking away.
great start. and thanks for entering. -
Superb imagery, very vivid and eerie. I enjoyed reading this though it seemed nighmarish and frightening. I like the repetitive mention of eyes a lot. Good luck in the contest.
