Poor puritan buds,
never dreamed afterlife would be so strange,
otherwise might have lived differently,
not been mean to dogs and cats
and definitely not got caught stealing birds on Thanksgiving.
Now their victims of Pilgrim reincarnation
this time as dog and cat, really pisser with fleas,
made to do silly feast day acts by former dog and cat in other life
who are now their owners,
still beats the times they come back as turkeys!

An interesting take on the prompt you have taken a different angle and worked it well.
Animal revenge yep thankful here Thanksgiving is not a tradition.
Nicely crafted. Good luck in the contest.
