Still Waters

The silky waters of smooth pond,
my dreams lay still in reflection.
The thoughts of mind much bigger than me,
in the order of natural selection.

Pebble tossed into the pond,
to distort this perfect view,
as the ripples glide so soft,
into all the memories of you.

Tear unfolds in wonder,
as a droplet into the still,
but I shall rise above all that,
there’s nothing that I can’t kill.

The depths of cool still waters,
flow deeply into my mind,
for I see myself so deep within,
yet uncertain what I shall find.

Blink of my lonely lash,
endowed by the blazing sun,
whispers slightly in a flash,
in still waters that no longer run.

Author notes

I dream into each ripple as it touches the distant shore.
