The stars inspired the light in her eyes
and as I lay beside her
time can carry me away from a memory
and bring forth a renewed hope.
for in her eyes I feel no pain.
in her eyes, I cannot suffer.
no one can hurt me.
when I'm lost in her eyes.
and the sky can change.
the world can move on.
but I never want to be found.
Author notes
a close friend of mine inspired me to right this. she told me how beautiful I was even when I was upset and hurting. she reminded me that no matter what I go through, I will always be loved and in her eyes I saw the brilliance of truth and it inspired me. She made me feel safe and I never wanted to be without her. The light I was looking for was in her eyes all along. When I thought the light was in something so dark and deadly, she saved me. She saved my life with the simple words and simple honesty. That's why I this poem is intriguing and powerful by its simplicity.

Ooo wow, this is very powerful. Despite the fact that it doesn't rhyme, I got great enjoyment out of reading this - it resonates within one's soul. This is a truly amazing write, full of light and life.
