The daily life of a ritualistic compulsion.

It's an addiction,
a compulsion
One, two, three...
sweat pouring down my face.
It's not perfect.
Cumpled paper sits around
my chair as my eyes intensly focus
on the paper before me.
My pen steady,
as the ink flows.
The words must be perfect...
One,
two,
three
tap, tap, tap
light switch on
light switch off
light switch on...
it doesn't feel right.
As I walk left foot
right foot,
left foot, right foot.
Damn OCD.
Damn rituals.
Break me free of these chains
these compulsions.

Author notes

I'm trying to write through writers block. I don't know if you know anything about OCD...but I suppose it could be an addiction.

I loved this. Incredible write, and I loved the repetition of, "One, two, three." It added more of a power to the poem. Beautiful =)
