i had a wealth of weed to my name
all stoaked for the bong, the
fatal hit of this semester, paired
with double shots of something...
the burn felt more like whiskey
although i wasn't one to judge.
shoved a cat in my lap, don't know
whose, but it purred sublimely
and i vibrated with the all too
familiar thumpthumpthump of a
shitty bass machine and the son
of a black panther pounding out
lyrics. people were in the corner,
doing harder stuff, i suppose
the sniffing noises could be from
a joint cold; there's a better
likeihood of a chaperone at this
rave. didn't know half the people
asleep, but i painted pornstar
mustaches on them with acrylics
and bleeding hearts on their chests
perhaps with the incentive to
love more? to donate their lives
to masturbating middle-aged men?
everyone had a cup, full to the
brim, they called it social drinking
i called it aa prep; but it never
mattered what i said, no one could
hear me over the screaming stereo.
i wish i'd done
half of these things
but not really.

i'm not what you'd call a partier. i don't really approve of smoking of any kind.
i hate hearing about people getting drunk...
[[mostly because i wish i was there]]
so, tag me hypocrite. at its finest.
