First rays of morning
elude sylvan defenses
pursuing shadows.

I think you absolutely nailed the prompt, and I had a very similar, very vivid image in my head before clicking on the link. Best of luck in the contest, I imagine this should do quite well.

I like!
I am a Haiku fan of course and yes I think you hit the prompt fairly well, I'm not sure that I did, but your piece flows nicely and I think it is good. Best of luck in the contest.

OOOH I do like this! It creeps up then invades the senses beautifully. Great choice of words, you've really got this style nailed, I'm envious as I always take an hour to say what you can in a minute - metaphorically of course. Great imagery going on here. Good luck in the contest, you should't need it!

Very good write here. It says a lot for being such a short write. This was a great take on the prompt. I love the word usage, that was the deal breaker for me. Well written, and very good on the prompt.. Good luck to you!

I like the use of the word "sylvan." I think the poem does address the prompt, in a unique manner. The haiku is an excellent form for such a subject.
