You say you’ve lost your muse, you don’t know what to write.
She is locked there right inside of you, hiding in plain sight.
Don’t think of who you are, that’s so easy the blind could see.
Think of who you never were, such as a wild screaming banshee.
You never were that lady, who used to kick and beat up dogs.
Hell; you don’t even eat the flesh, chickens, cows or hogs.
You never were that girl, who didn’t miss her friend that went away.
And never had a singing career , yet you sing every single day.
Think about the things you didn’t, there are so many for you to choose.
Then write about why you took that road; tonight go sing the blues.
Try to think about the dumbest thing, that you refused to do.
Write about the directions you got, and totally misconstrued.
Think how you’re not selfish, you did not commit the worst of sins.
Or how much the world would miss you, then sit back enjoy the grin.
Things happen all around you, more than a hundred every day.
Sit down and take your pen in hand, answer what I had to say.
