Never-ceasing days stop
watches in their place;
doesn't matter where they fall,
I'll still be vigil in
their wake.
Toss and turns with restless
breaths, frustration burning
with every thought throughout
the night-
the days like bitter winters;
secret-keepers of the sun protect
visible determination of time.
Insomniac visions cloud perception,
each step a weight lifted by your
toes...
Yet every night remains the same-
sleepless fog
Author notes
Insomnia drains me. When I don't have the right type of Melatonin, my nights are sleepless...

I understand belive me
Write away your insomnia. Well it may not help but you sure get some good stuff. -
I used to have mild insomnia, so I can somewhat relate. I think you described it perfectly, and I'm sorry you struggle with it. Thank you for entering the contest, good luck.

I understand the sleepless fog. I think this is a good write, but unfortunately I'm not sure it fits here. Thanks for entering!

I have a step-son like you that cannot get even one minute's sleep without melatonin...I know it is so very important to some people, and I feel bad for you, babe...good write...=)

I surely can relate to this poem! You did a great job describing what it's like to suffer from insomnia. It is not fun and it truly is very draining. Lack of sleep affects everything in ones' life. Great job on this and I wish you the best in the contest. Blessings, Patty
