Of this, my only serene morning
Before I took those troubled steps
Away from home to start anew
The tears are so hard to hold back
The river, my youth

This brings back memories for me it was the day after
High School graduation my navy recuiter called and said he had a slot open in California do I want to go instead of the Great Lakes, I said yes when do I have to be ready my recuiter told me 48 hours, I was ready and I was in Ca in two days I will never forget my parents faces when I left home to serve my country.
