Anaesthetized

I am the dream maker.
The truth breaker.
That silent,
But constant scream,

That strangles and tangles,
Blood pumping veins.
I am the misconception that dangles
From the needle, or the puff.

Obscuring your view...
I'm gnawing...
I'm chewing...
I'm licking...

I'm sucking at self-worth
And once I'm in,
Mark my words...
I'll eat my way back out!

    Amazing Poem!!

WOW! You have penned a stark and trueful poem on the darkness and addiction of drugs in our lives and society. I have seen too many, young and old shatter their lives.

Your imagery was fantastic!! The form was perfect for your words. Both really draw the reader into the poem.

    Take care.
    Blessings, Sandy
