When I rumble like war
a rocket won't brake me,
when I’m settling a score
a cyclone can't shake me.
I can turn up the hype
I can cut like a knife,
sinking low as the floor
whatever the stakes be.
I'm a rock on the shore
the tide cannot move me,
in my rain blasted skies
ten rainbows won’t soothe me.
I am lace frost on glass
and black dew on the grass
my soul trembles in dread
at the heat in this head.
Soon I’m down on my knees
as rage passes through me,
just begging for reasons
the fireworks persue me,
then making excuses
that don't mean a thing
and wear the abuse
for the bed I lie in.

Thank you for your entry in the contest. An interesting poem with raw emotions. A pleasure to read

Oooo! Quite a powerful write here with no sensitivity cushioning a thought. Raw words getting straight to the point and wanting to make that point with no holes barred. A great sense of confidence comes out in this write and the form and rhyme work exceedingly well. Best of luck in the contest...alby
