Profusion of Loneliness

Alone in this life-destroying world,
Shades of people just looking my way
Yet they’re just imaginary
‘Cause when I turn around, they all seem to fly away;
Dissipate in thin air
Leaving me to moan - lonely once again.

I am like a prisoner held captive in a precluding cell
Like a drop of rain separated from her own race
Like some orphan bustling from town to town
Like a segregated stranger among a crowd of flesh-eating sharks
Or a ragged parchment being discarded with disrespect

Yet nobody cares
For still here, I am -
With no-one to release my pain
Or to purge the burden from my disheartened shoulder.
Believe me, I’ve searched, but in vain
And I’m still alone
More than ever before
For all those close have all gone.
