Planet once vast oceans
now receding waters,
mud parched lakes,
fallen trees,
depleting life;
all left to bear witness
beneath the livings
last race.
Dark decathlon clouds
swim in gray skies above,
reaching out to earth's
final finish line below,
laying dreary
in man's weary waste,
lest not for silvery light's
shimmering glow
emitting
from the moon.

Excellent Poem
Wow you never stop to amaze me with your poetry. The imagery is so profound and the poem with that picture is excellent. The last stanza really summed it up perfectly for the contest.
Laying dreary
in man's weary waste,
lest not for silvery light's
shimmering glow
emitting
from the moon.
I loved your poem.

Yes, this made me very melancholy last night. Enough so that I went off and went to bed.
I get it, and yes the interpretation is wonderful.
I wanted to come back with fresh eyes and reda again.Yes, it's still very sad.
anyway, best wishes and blessings always.

For some reason, this makes me very sad. Sad enough to give up judging the contest tonight. I loved it, enough that I'm ending here, on this note.
Best wishes ,
and blessings always,

Great JOb!!!
This is indeed what earth will no dobt look like when all is over!!It also reminds me of Genesis 1 In the beginning God created the heaven and earth and the earth was void and without form and darkness fell upon tha face of the deep...It would seem to be to be like this photo with darkness and desolation being all that was there and in the end it will be as it began just as you have so poetically stated here!!! Great job on this one poet!!!Thanks for sharing with me this afternoon!!!~~Toni~~
