[For Pop + Mem] Those Were The Days

Once upon a time we went to London
There we watched a show and met ol' bill
Remember the two gays guys on the roadside?
Well at the time we watched them with a thrill

Those were the days my friend
They drove us round the bend
We were naive, but it was still ok
We acted how we chose
There were no rules or codes
And we were wierd but it was still ok

But the years have pushed themselves upon us
Made us down, depressed and shrink away
We did not re-visit dear old London
I think we should head there soon someday

Those were the days my friend
They drove us round the bend
We were quite odd, and we were very strange
We acted how we chose
There were no rules or codes
And some poor people thought we were deranged

But I think we still possess the talent
To rid ourselves of normality
Maybe we should go re-visit London
Acting like the lunatics we be...

I like how it says "those were the days my friend" it adds such a dimension of nostalgia & longing.

interesting rhyme scheme, this reads almost lyrical.
