Hobbes the Cat
April 1992 - August 2008
Hobbes the cat got put down today
to end his suffering
But a good and happy life
he did lead
He was the most human friendly
of all our 5 cats
He would lick your face
and curl up beside you to sleep
Hobbes would also play fetch
and check on you when you
were laid up in bed sick
He was a very loving cat indeed
Yes he had his bad traits
But put that aside
and remember the good times
when he was not in trouble at all
At least I got the pictures
to remember Hobbes by
when he was healthy
and free from sickness
Bye Bye my precious Hobbes
You will be loved and remembered
forever in our hearts
Rest in peace

We have to put Hobbes down today at 4:30 P.M. Our Vet was kind enough to say he would come in today do it at that time.

Hobbes was such a cutey! I couldn't help but be reminded of my cats, Boots, Buttons, and Pinky. I miss all three of them so much. Was Hobbes named after the cartoon strip CALVIN & HOBBES? I loved that strip, and have several of the books.

He looks like a real beauty; was he a Burmese? I'm not so hot with my cat breeds unfortunately - can never remember the difference between Burmese or Birman!

I know the pain of losing a cat. We lost ours last year, and our dog too.. I am so very sorry for your loss. I know the pain. Thanks for sharing this in the Bears Day Care Lair!

this reminds me of a cat we had named Shadow. We lost him when he was hit by a car. He liked to play with jelly beans...I miss him so. Thank you for the entry and for obeying the rules.

A beautiful cat he is too love. So sorry for you that his time here had ended but I'm sure he lead a wonderful life with you and wanted for nothing. It is heartbreaking to say goodbye to any animal , for they love us the most...Happy memories .....Ma..xx

- I had to have one put down about 4 yrs. ago - and I still 'hurt' - she was about 16, the best cat we ever had....'Mittens'.....she got an abdominal tumor and I didn't want to put her through all that was coming up.....especially since she was 'happy' right up until I took her in.
This was well-done - brought tears to my eyes.
Sorry about Hobbes, but happy to know she led a full, good life.

I am so sorry about your lovely cat, 16 is a grand age and I am sure he had a very good and happy life with you and your other cats.
I am so sorry your dear little friend is no longer with you, but if you can console yourself that being with you and your other cats Hobbes most likely had one of the best lifes a cat could have.
Lovely heartfelt words of appreciation and in remembrance of your dear Hobbes, his pain is now gone.

oh the saddest
thing a human has to do is put a pet down, but so much kinder than suffering, I am sorry you had to make that choice as I do know it is heartbreaking, a very lovely dedication to a beautiful cat,...thank you for sharing this with us...
