I thought about Arabella
But it was too stiff
And Araminta--
That wasn't right either.
Annabelinda--
Much too long--
So finally the variant:
Anabel.
Creamy fur was soft
As spider's silk
Yellow bow
And yellow nose
And black button eyes
Adorn face and neck
While the blue, spotted dress
Long-sleeved white undershirt
And checkered hairband
Complete the image
Of Anabel.
I pick her up
And cradle her in my arms
Receiving that sensation
Of comfort and reassurance
That I get
Every time I hold her
Waiting
For the day
I can put her
In my own child's arms
So they can feel the love
Of Anabel.
Author notes
Obviously, I did the name Anabel. In case some of you don't get it and/or don't see that this is in a contest, it's about a teddy bear.

That's well done!
I love the last part, about passing her on to your children. Teddies never die or fade away...
Lovely poem! Thanks for entering!
