The digital clock over the mantle ticks quietly in the silence
Fireplace flames bellowing like a torch held in the wind
While enigmatic feelings smothering me so that I can barely breathe
Layers of guilt writhes within me my cross to bear. Has the jade in my eyes of gray destroyed what could have been?
What did I do that was so grievously wrong that you would leave?
Was I wrong to question your frequent absences without thoughts of me?
Hence every route my wandering thoughts chance to take comes back full circle to you.
While the whisper of desperation overtake me as the lyrical melodious music from the speakers softly plays

Nice use of the words I can relate to this too, I'm not a very trusting person. Thanks for entering and good luck!
