the story of amanda

here in verse one this is where we met
you were really fun and I never will forget
watching willy wonka and eating taco bell
sharing secrets with someone who would never tell
summer nights spent playing inebriated games
telling drunken jokes that were never the same
no, they were never funnier than then
laughing until we cried then laughed again
memories made in the shadow of innocence
right before all was lost in that sense

the second verse is called distance and renewal
you moved away and i thought you were such a tool
but college beckons, as does life at certain times
you met him and time passed like wind through chimes
i figured with your new life and a baby on the way,
that old friends are lost in the bustle of your day
a message to each other here and there
made it all seem like we tried to care
never forgetting but never remembering what we were
an endless separation that seemed to never deter
until that fateful night our paths crossed again
a lovely conversation that eclipsed that that had been
of a burden i never again want to bear
life has less luster without you there

the third verse has yet to be penned
its a story of the best of friends
about a boy and a girl who calls him a kid
even though he's a year older than she is
if you ever need a friend for secrets no one would know
or a joke that is never as good as the first go,
call me or write it in a letter and send through ups
i love you in a way which words could never express

What did you think

I love this...I can relate to this very much...and if this is not a true story...then it is still beautiful. The love that is depicted, first intimately involved and later simply the relaxation into friendship. This is true!
