When I laid in bed, my Mamma would say
Just one kiss goodnight , I love you ok
I’d stare in her eyes ,and say I’d one wish
For Mamma to give me, her butterfly kiss
Now I’m a parent, a father of two
Tradition dies hard, generations shine through
I’ve become the kisser, my children won’t miss
Their Daddy saying goodnight, with a butterfly kiss
I pray as they grow, they’ll remember the time
Their Daddy said goodnight, with a hug and a rhyme
Their own children laughing, and asking them if
Before they fall asleep, they’ll get a butterfly kiss

Very cute and loving poem! Indeed, I hope your children remember their "butterfly kisses!"

Awww this is adorable! Such a sweet read. It's very true things get passed from parent to child, I've noticed that over the years with my children. A gorgeous write, thanks for sharing
