He was given to me one winters day,
it was a gift to me when I broke my leg.
The lady who gave him to me said he was special indeed,
and his name is patches yet so lovely you see.
He is a very old bear and been friends to all ,
had a few boo boos and yet a tear never did fall.
He is a magic bear that takes your pain away,
for Patches has also got a broken leg.
It happened one day when he was left upon the floor,
our little puppy played with him and hurt him for sure.
Oh we picked him up and mended him best we could,
but he needed a special friend and we so hoped you would .
Wont you let him stay with you and together you can get well,
tell each other stories and it will be swell.
For I just know the two of you have secrets you hold within,
its a find that helps hearts mend .
So he took the little bear and snuggled him close,
and whispered to him we must be careful while we heal you know.
Time will make it better and now we aren't alone,
for we have each other in a safe warm home.
