a breeze softly stirs
the fallen cherry blossoms
a samurai's shroud.

Dear Diana,
I love the Japanese imagery of this haiku.
I now have "Sakura, Sakura, Cherry blossom from afar..."
on the brain and can't get it out of my mind. Lovely tune though, like your haiku, beautifully sad. I can visualise that samurai in full armour, prone on the ground beneath the tree while the pink blossom gradually covers him.
I won't think of the messy manner of his death.
Best of luck in the contest.
Applause, love and hugs, XXX Hugh (R.)
