Saying Thanks

The nicest words

   one can say.

Is saying, "Thanks."

Saying Thanks

   to someone,

You have never met.

For doing for you

   is called,

An honor to them.

I have given

   hugs and

said, "Thanks a lot!"

But a lot never

   have ever heard,"Thanks"

or even seen a grin.

Many will never

   see the light,

of today.

They are

  "Special Ones."

Who have slipped away.

To Our Soldiers,

   of Today,

and Yesterday.

Hi there, just to explain as no-one else seems to have the banned words are not cuss words but filler words. If you have not entered a POW Poem Of The Week before you may not have understood this.Just have a look throught the rules and try again next week.It takes a bit of getting used to.A poem of support for soldiers like your brave son.Take heart no-one means to hurt you. It's only a contest after all , Ros

I never saw one cuss word,

The words "Thanks wre words toaugh by my mother, Soldier a word a lot of us forget they are out there. I was paying respect to our country- has someone forgoten this place. Sorry but POW is the best place this poem could have gone - Just in case those who say the support our troops remember our troops often become POW, die end up mangled. Maybe I should say I am sorry, I only thow of POW People of our World. A real dummy that is me, Oh yes My son served for you people too. Give me a day I'll get over it - I have been very sick...mac

This is a nice poem but for the Po contest that you have entered there are quite a few banned words that you have used that are not allowed so this piece will be removed from the contest. I do hope that you try to enter again but please remember these are contest that you have to pay close attention to the rules.

Beautiful words and tribute to Our Soldiers Mac. We all need to give them honor and respect and thanks. They are the reason we have our freedom yet today...Katie
