I saw your chair

I saw your chair

and said to myself

she has slipped out for a while

she has gone on a journey

and all the things you said

the times you kissed a bruise

and whistled away a fear

your wise words

and your warm side

they were as fresh to me

as tomorrow is

today has just borrowed you

you are only out of one sight

and so I see you

with my other eyes

and align myself

with the quiet things here

that await you

a journey is only a step or two

you will never be further away

than that

    Beautiful

This piece is so tenderly portrayed with care and love and the understanding of a simpler voice that recognizes what will be. To know the gift of having been truly loved, and having loved truly, is the greatest gift we can receive or give, and to care for it with such tenderness and knowing, is worth even more. There is light in this poem and it sings with acceptance even though there is deep need to understand.

    Exceptional. ~Pamela

This is a concentration breath of faith.
The whole piece ties the physical of life
with the impacting elements that are forever
    unseen: thoughts, feelings, memories, belief...
all combine here to give the reader a
surrounding comfort in what can not be controlled.

    Style!

Your casual voice belies the depth of feeling evident in this so very accessible poem. Yes, you passed the test of opening new eyes to visit love. Streets ahead of most poems on this site.

I am so touched to see you respond so quickly and deeply to my cry of heart ... in only one blink of an eye, you have found the words that are able to put a healing balm on a grieving heart ... with sensitivity, love, wisdom and humility, your words form wings of compassion to one who seems inconsolable ...
this morning, when I spoke to henri, I felt that he was slowly seeking refuge in a dark and lonely place where, soon, no word, no hug, no smile would reach him anymore ... I cannot let this happen ...

    I love you, my sister,

    sincerely,
    marion
