With Dawn's Light

the distance between

more than just space

the regret of past years

seen upon my face

life lived on the fray

an observer looking in

a desperate want

to fill the void

the lonliness within

aching want of youth

replaced by complacency

mutuality gone

once a single beating heart

withered and faded

a sense of invisibility

words that were spoken

best left unsaid

a broken vow

or fractured promise

thoughts run through my head

darkness is the enemy

quiet of the night

wishing time would pass

and bring the renewing light

unsurmountable mountains

crumble with the dawn

bringing with it always

the strength to carry on

I don't want to misrepresent myself, so I'm just letting you know this is actually a prewrite. The prewrite link has never worked for me from the very begining of my membership.
