This is warm and wonderful dear Joan. All the "ducks" in a row. I can't wait until the day I can personally meet both you and Hugh, darby too. Excellent! I wish you well in the challenge.

    Much Love Always ♥

    Dear Joan,

Love your haiku's and the fact that you and Hugh have named your friendly ducks. I love, too, that they bring their ducklings to meet Hugh (wish the ducklings were in the pic').

Best of Luck in the contest!

    Love and Hugs,
    Maureen

For some reason that we don't know Maureen there were no ducklings last October. We suspect rats or dogs could've found the nest and destroyed the eggs, so hopefully Darby and Joan will hatch some more this October. The ducklings from my second visit are in my other Ku entry. This picture was taken last February.

Dear AJ, I love it when we all go to visit the ducks and watch how they come up to Hugh, they definitely recognize him.And they are such great parents to their ducklings, it's a joy to watch them.

See now from the ducks' perspective...you and Hugh are THEIR people, not your ducks...never mind, it seemed funny when I thought of it.

    yem hungry!

Sorry, I'm not really evil, I think duckies are cute. I used to have some when I was a kid, they walk how I like to think Hugh does!

Silliness aside, it looks like a wonderful place to have lunch and share sandwiches with the ducks...I wonder if they like Moxie?

I love your comment Yem and don't you dare eat our ducks! Geez don't let Hugh know you think he waddles like a duck! He walks fairly well actually except when his gammy leg plays up. It is a wonderful park with 2 ponds in it and a lovely place to walk or sit and even have a picnic.

    Dear Bea-san

    excellent
    velly descliptive
    velly tlue

Well, lately when I've gone to visit our Paradise pair, they haven't been in residence at the pond but I've come across them on the riverbank, on the library lawn and even at the Ruru Lawn cemetery where my twin daughters are buried. Even though they go walkabout (flyabout?) they ALWAYS come back to the Beckenham Park (they were there again yesterday!)
I hope when you come again in October next year that they will have some ducklings to show off to you.
What you have so explicitly written is all quite true:
    # They do seem to wait for me as they swim towards me as soon as I go to the edge of the pond.
    # When Joan is swimming by herself, Darby stands guard, watching from the bank.
    # Paradise ducks mate for life and are never 'unfaithful' to each other.
    Good luck in the contest.

Applause, mlove and hugs, XXX Hugh (R.)
