A Road To Walk Alone

I want to swallow it all
And hide the silken frame
within my very being
Where only one could see
A longing of another time
When I could walk among
The children of God
The origin of sin
A hollow treaty of misgivings
A road to walk alone

I want to close my eyes
And see what I used to be
When my wings would lift me
To the edge of the clouds
To the end of a life
Where I could walk among
The children of lies
The origin of hope
A whisper threatening clarity
A road to walk alone

I want a moment of his time
To speak to him of yesterday
But words hold no meaning
Once the curtain has fallen
And the cameras ceased
Mhy must I walk among
The children of his?
The origin of light?
A calling of eternity
A road to walk alone

I want to swallow it all
And hide within myself
A key to fractured paradise
Where only he could see
How much I loved his smile
Yet still I walk among
Everything he has made
The origin of regret
A hollow memory of sentiment
A road to walk alone

Author notes

Written during a state of anger and longing after a fight with my fiancee. A release of negative emotions and pessimism.
