I don't have tattoos
I have shards
I like having them
like the lines on my hands
they speak to me
in a quiet voice
spoilt for choice
I pick one carefully
play a little
put it back
a fastidious housewife
with a place for everything
the sharpest piece
the big one that went deep
yeah it still hurts
but I'm used to that
it's the powdery stuff
dust of your softest words
that gets into my eyes
makes them bleed

Ow, very powerful and filled with great imagery. An anguish of purposeful hurts that one can bear, yet those that dig deepest are the remembered promises and intentions that were never realized.
Very well done and many thanks for entering into the contest.

WoW! The imagery here is so strong that it made me want to cringe in pain. Your words really brought this piece to life. Good luck to you in the contest!
