I am awake -
sitting with silence.
Sounds make
its presence felt:
dog barks, tea
drops, thoughts
bid for peace -
so, my heart
addresses
the god within.
My careening spirit
declares, even
of quiet, I've
come to care.

Wow I think this is so pretty, and visual .. audio. I like!

Serene is indeed a good word for this poem.
"makes" should be "make"
"it" should be "it's"
Otherwise this poem is quite solid. I enjoyed the pleasant calm it brings when reading it.

I've been here before. At one time, I was a frequent visitor, the one who strolled down some quiet neighborhood on grey winter morns or pink waking summers, minutes before the sun; a lone runner, a truck's rattle with shuffling feet of delivery men. Thank you for this picture postcard of "Fun in the sun..." One of these days, I'll slow it down a bit and revisit this... Write on, sweetie.
