morning news haiku:
No. 1.
finance companies
blaming global recession
now face bankruptcy
No. 2.
house-owner goes out
forgets to secure front door
burglar helps himself
No. 3.
morning frosty ice
slippery concrete pathway
very sore backside

The news can certainly inspire!
Three different topics, and interesting approaches
That fall sounds familiar, happens to me every Winter

Dear Heath, Number two is great! So funny, but I feel sorry for anyone who slips over. OOOO that hurts.
Great haiku's though.

haiku news...
These haikus, and a strong cup of java would wake the sleeping dead!
Biting my nails from the stress of it all! LOL
I love what you did with this non-traditional poetry form with its wondrous string of visual humanisim, and humor.
I wish you well in the challenge.
Much Love ♥
Renee

Clear and concise as they should be
The Human Condition is well expresed here.

My dear Heath, three great haiku's you've written. I don't like watching the news too much as you know, but I like to sit down with you when you're home and watch it with you.
Love your Hine

I like these! They're like...1 + 1 = 2

Dear Heath, Marvellous informative haiku's, now do some sports ones for Hugh and Bobs your uncle.

Dear Heath.
If you are going to give us a haiku bulletin every morning I can cancel my subscription to "The Press" and save having to walk to the gate to pick it up.
Innovative idea for a triple haiku but you haven't reported anything from the SPORTS pages!
Good luck in the contest.
Applause and sayonara. Hugh (R.)

Sounds like your day got off to a great start...

hahahahaha the 2nd one and the 3rd one made me laugh.
Very original take for haiku, never would have thought of using news as inspiration for this form of poetry.
