Looking Glass Lives

Oh! forever seems so far away
When you're lovelorn and forgotten
Watching dreams turn into affray
All your best friends seem contented
And you've got nothing left to say
How to survive

So! does it fall apart before your eyes
You can't see past tomorrow's old news
Are you really that surprised?
Is life turning like a spit
Are you over powered by all of it?
Let's spawn and thrive
To stay alive

If you're still sitting up so late
Poking the ashes through the grate
Thinking of place that you've seen
And other spots you've never been
A stagnant theme

So! what's you're plans to make amends
Change you're life
And change your friends
Is it sometimes all too hard
Cleaning up your own backyard
When you're on your knees

And when you're listening to the same old song
It makes you sad and angry
But you still sing along
Thinking maybe tomorrow things will change
And people won't think that you're so strange
You're not that queer
Or is it the beer?

Stay tight things will be right
Take a leaf out of the bible
You won't be sued, you won't be libel
And that god awful screaming
Is just when you are dreaming
Maybe you can bat for the other team
Maybe not it's not what it seems...

If you're still sitting up so late
Poking the ashes through the grate
Thinking of place that you've seen
And other spots you've never been
A stagnant theme

This is a truly wonderful display of fine poetic talent. Very inspired and quite interesting...

I would suggest that you revisit this piece though.

In the second group of lines "Are you roasted by all it?" doesn't quite make sense.

    Very, very well done though.

    Blessing,

    C
