I hope you can tell I'm holding back tears
I know I've done you no good over these years
I haven't gone to church for a long while
But I feel closer to you than when I was a child
I sin like no other and I know you hurt
But can I admit "I love God!" when I don't worse?
Churches have forsaken me and see my life of sin
But god I know it's my heart you're in
I've seen you working in my life a lot lately
So it assures me you are side by side with me
I don't really know where I should go from here
I just know you're ready to wipe away my tears

Yes, He is always there for us, and ready to dry all our tears. A beautiful write. Thank you for sharing in the contest.

nice!
it seems religion isnt doing what you would hope. i have lived almost my entire life a christian, and now I am agnostic (for so so many reasons). I believe some people need church and god; and others (who i would like to say are of a higher intelligence, not to offend) need something more. if you ever find yourself with extra time and a yearning to learn more, check out this website: www.zeitgeistmovie.com
best of luck to you.
