    So topical

This is so topical for us isn't it? When the raain comes we rejoyce/ A very powerful short poem. Amazing how little words it takes to send a clear messsage. Excellent dear sister.

Dear AJ Having been to Menindee lakes when it's been full of water I know how sad it is to see it in drought condition. Great haiku.

I have not experienced a severe drought, only a relative one - lawns dried, trees did not. Rain is a blessing, though not if it comes five days a week!
Your haiku gives me a lot to think about.

Yesterday Ray and me visited the metroparks. There is an overlook bridge that allows us breathtaking sights of "Bridal Veil Falls". He took pictures. They are awesome! The creek that empties into the Cuyahoga River was "drought" stricken. The waterfall has been thunderous in the past when I visited. Yesterday the sound was but a soothing trickle.

Thanks for allowing me to share my view from your words. This witness is what your poem urged as a comment.

Your poetry is somber. and queitly beautiful! I wish you the best in this challenege dear angel/sister/friend.

    Always ♥

Almost an answer to a prayer. Those of us who have had highways washed out and closed due to cloudburst
know how unfair it is !

Dear AJ, I know how bad the drought can get from growing up there and even though our cities have had rain the country hasn't and that's where they need it the most. I don't know why the government can't work out how to stop the runoffs from going out to sea and build pipes that could be diverted to the drought stricken areas.Too much money I guess and political.
    Great haiku.

Here we never have too dry, actually too much rain in Belgium, but as long there is now flood, I think I shouldn't complain.

Glad to know you have some rain now

    Dear Bea,

    farmers complaining
    no feed for starving livestock
    same in new zealand

Thankyou for your excellent entry. Yeah, there's nothing like a few months with no rain to make us realise the value of water. In Canterbury, from October to June we had no rainfall while there was widespread flooding further South and in the North Island.

Applause for your haike (5/7/5 traditional) and best of luck in the judging.

Love and hugs, XXX Hugh (R.)
