I saw you across the dance floor
watching my legs in that short red dress
made for dancing that dress was.
Peeking at you from around my hair
oh looking up you were there.
Was a night for dancing and laughter
how sweet the night air was
on that wooden platform right by the sea.
I did not know you or you me
we were how ever as familiar to one another
as salt was to the sea.
Dancing wrapped up in strong arms
my head just bumping your chin
oh honey I would so love to go back
relive that night again.
The beginning of warm days
floating on rafts tied together
sleeping off our night time play
Oh baby, Lover undressing for you
was like offering all I was all I had
to your hungry eyes and you accepted
as if I were the rarest of jewels
the most precious gift. You the male
I loved it when you held me
up against the wall my legs so tight
about you, oh oh oh Lover
the many nights of pure abandon.
one month later here we are
your going your way and I mine.
oh did you drop something?
no?
Will I marry you?
Oh you have a ring?
staring down as you stand up
all I can get out around around the happiness
is
yup!

If...
Men could blush I would. like being a dang peeping Tom. Hahaha... some mighty grand visual writing going on here.

Another of your wonderful stories, really so romantic and loving. I know a lot of people with good marriages that met on a dance floor. One lady swore the song was "Can I Have This Dance For The Rest Of My Life' what are the chances.
-
Love and life begins on a dance floor, then continues to build into something more lasting than a one night stand, and starts a new beginning with a dropped ring and a popped question. This should be a primer for young lovers on how to take life by the horns and accept true love when you see it.
By the way, I love your given name [Rheea], it is so melodic. Soft slow dance, anyone?
Well done here, Rheea, I loved it.

Re: Yup
I just love this great poem! The lines: "we were how ever as familiar to one another
as salt was to the sea" are wonderful! This one's got everything -- well written, good choice of words, super title and last line, wonderful metaphor of a party or is it meeting at sea (or is it both?) -- the emotions shown here are just well presented and thoroughly enjoyable -- they also hit me over the head! I just totally empathize with this poem, it's feelings and it's all! Super write! I mean it! -
This is very sweet and romantic.
A lot of lovely imagery and emotion
here. Good luck to you!
