Memories glint in the light of morning,
of dark night,
falling snow.
These are muted now,
more than a decade having past...
Still,
it is clear how it sparkled,
oh, how it glittered,
in the first morning light.
Personifying peace,
silence, tranquility.
Resting easily on the trees,
rooftops, and cars.
Before bare feet touch the floor,
before crusty eyes glance outside,
the world knows it has happened.
Everything is brighter.
My eyes blur,
looking past the moment,
to moments long since gone.
This harsh reality fades a moment,
and I am six years old again,
rushing to get bundled up
so I can make snow angels.
