~Angel of the Morning~

(music for background)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Laying serene, surrounded by family,..
Life changed forever, on this day.
Quietly, peaceful, seeming to sleep,
No one speaks, knowing not what to say.
*******************
Silence hushes every whispering word,
Gives testimony to the life beheld.
God opened his arms in loving avail,
To gather this angel, so compelled.
*******************
Morning dawning,... a loved one called home,
When brilliant rays from heaven appeared.
Streaming through windows, glorious beams of gold,
Upon the now gilded face,. endeared!
********************
Radiance from Heaven, dispersing peace,
While a glow about was forming.
Into Jesus's arms, to then ascend,...
As He called,
to His angel of the morning!
Author notes
Angel of the Morning has been inspired by my own mother's passing. I did indeed feel a sense of peace and calm as the real life events unfolded with truly brilliant beams of sun that struck her face, as curtains were opened. My life has since been blessed by that unique moment!
    I actually had shivers reading this, as my mother passed away under very similar circumstances... She asked the nurse to close the curtains, because the light coming in the window was so bright! Except that it was around 5 AM and still dark outside -- shortly thereafter she closed her eyes and breathed her last. By the time the family had gathered around, she was actually bathed in sunlight... Your writing is just lovely here, and such a lovely tribute to your mother.
    Thanks for entering my contest sorry it took so long to comment. I have been dealing with a lot. Your poem brings a little peace to me. This stanza is just absolutely beautiful.
    Silence hushes every whispering word,
    Gives testimony to the life beheld.
    God opened his arms in loving avail,
    To gather this angel, so compelled.
    Thanks, Melody
    What a beautiful, poignant poem, full of God's miraculous light and love!
    My mother lay silent also, surrounded by family when she died. I spoke to her; gave her our "permission" to go home to be with Jesus. She squeezed my niece's hand, and died within one minute of my speaking to her. I considered that our little miracle.
    Breathakingly Beautiful and Inspiring!
    You write such beautiful sentiments, makes me sure that you are a real life angel, sent amongst us to watch over us and to spread the word and you do this so well.
    The good book says "people have entertained angels without ever knowing it", in you Grace, we do just that, I am sure.
    This is another Poet Laureate level poetic masterpiece of phenomenal quality and written with unmatchable talent.
    Wow this was just breathtaking and I love the illustrations too.
    Stunning artistry in words and poetry.
    Well done, bravo, love it! Write on Angel Grace!
    Poetic Hugs,
    Kaz.
