For Good

There may be times
when you meet that person
the one who is there to change it all
and you feel so much pain
followed by a brisk feeling of joy

But I know I'm who I am today

so swiftly changed by a person's reactions
by the pain they cause someone
by the smile they bring to one's face

but there's a change in my strut
there's a change in my being
"and who can say if I've been changed for the better
but because I knew you
I have been changed for good"

and I know we both feel so sorry for the things we've done
the one's that have been long forgiven
"and none of it seems to matter
any more"

you were there to listen to my woes
to comfort me in my moment of pain
when the pain you felt was transfered to me
for such a family is mine as well
and now it's better
with my joy reigning

seperation means nothing
for your words are only temporary
as a friendship is never lost
no matter what happens
the change brought within me
shall forever remain
