Haze

Standing on the edge of sanity
All you’ve dreamt sits beyond reach
Jump - hoping your able to catch a fragment of that dream
Stay - behind the invisible line where you think you’ve been safe
Dreaming of that perfect moment
The perfect place

Many would say JUMP
Make your MOVE
While others sit waiting in fear
Waiting for that other shoe to drop
Meds make me hazy
BUT
I know where the invisible line would lead
My dreams have been the clarity I’ve sought for so long
I am the Mermaid taken from her water
I am apart of that raging sea
the one beyond that line of hope
the one raging within
ME

Perhaps the haze kept me sane
Letting me see without detailed truth
NO
I won’t believe that
Taking the risk
The jump
Those are the things that make your life a memory
An adventure
A life worth living
Nothing in life comes without it’s own HAZE
Seeing through the fog
Stepping through to the other side
makes life one hell of a ride!

LIVE  take that chance ...

You will always have a place here and in my heart, personally. I can only stand in awe of your poetry and dream that maybe someday...I'll be half as good as you. Your love of life, I understand, but cannot share. I am lost on this little planet. Perhaps I was meant for another time, another place...another world. Sorry about that, sometimes my fingers keep on typing my thoughts long after they have lost their importance to anytone else. I truly need a friend, but it has to be that forever kind of friendship, that deep abode and no matter what happens, kind of friendship I will not settle for less. So I walk alone on my path, praying for a real friend to walk along with me. This journey, called living, is so dull without another artist to breathe with, to evolve with...if you know what I mean.

    BLESSINGS & LOVE,

You well describe that being torn back and forth between daring to jump for your dreams and holding back in a place where you "think you've been safe".

So many times "safety" can be an illusion. Instead of safety, it is really just a slow death...a life never really lived.

So many things in life are covered with a haze. It can be difficult to see clearly.

    Thank you for sharing this!

I am still trying to get through the Haze so to speak. Yes we have to go through many trials in life and never give up on hope or love on our journey.

This is an amazing write so full of wonderful imagery and emotion thanks for sharing my friend. Theresa

Living is a risk. It's a risk that keeps us from stepping off the edge. The corners are rounded for a reason...so that we don't slip and fall from the straightness.

Your seat is always round the table dear heart. Take your time, use it wisely, don't be rushed...breathe.

Your poem is insightful and leaves the reader with much to munch on. Food for the soul! Excellent and welcome back!

    Always ♥

Of course there is still a "spot" for you here. There always will be! We are your family!

I could so relate to your poem. Couldn't agree more; that it is better to take a risk and jump, facing truth and growing - rather than staying where one thinks it is always safe and secure. From my own experience, it is more the safety zone that is stagnating and the silent killer of our souls. I know what you speak of about the "haze" seeming like a better place to be at times, because the truth and clearness of reality can be very hard to face.

    Your ending sums it up with such clarity;

    "Seeing through the fog
Stepping through to the other side
makes life one hell of a ride!

    LIVE take that chance ..."

If we never take that chance, we will never know or grow.

Your painting is amazing. Very intense!
