The Master And Her Mistress.

In sensual flow she stretches,
a sleek river
of unerring movements.
Thoughts are closed
as eyes follow,
for only the present exists.

The back arches
and body turns away,
for only in her
time of need
will I be acknowledged.

I am but her mouse
and she plays my heartstrings,
a symphony of drumbeats
that is not to be ignored.

She is,
my destiny,
trapping me
within the present,
opening her locket
at the time
of her choosing.

I am the conduit
of mysterious forces.

Author notes

A CAT/A FUTURE

A cat can draw
the blinds
behind her eyes
whenever she
decides. Nothing
alters in the stare
itself but she's
not there. Likewise
a future can occlude:
still sitting there,
doing nothing rude.

Fabulous “sleek river of unerring movements” and I really liked the locket imagery. Great conclusion. No question who's in charge! I really enjoyed this, thank you for this wonderful entry!

Lovely liquid-y "sensual flow" and "sleek river!"
A true feline observation, "only in her time of need will I be acknowledged." Lovely third stanza, I imagine "a symphony of drumbeats" is her deep purring (great metaphor!)
Interesting thought, to be trapped in a "locket" (where usually a momento photo is kept) within the present, by your 'pet'.
This also conveys the thought that all is present tense/immediate with your cat, the idea of "wait a minute!" being quite foreign.
Intriguing conclusion, "I am the conduit of mysterious forces." Would that be the can opener? Thank you for your entry!
