Egyptian Sheets

Though I may not be naked,
I feel unwanted eyes upon me -
trying to dig deep into my soul.

Minutes tick on by,
and time ceases to exist;
a blanket covers my skin.

Soft, innocent, rare -
these words filter through;
someone has thrown up a shield.

A fabric so thin,
you can clearly see through -
yet, I can no longer sense the others.

My love has not deserted me,
but has given me hope in time;
that so long as this sheet stays white
he will always be by my side.
