they call the Smokey's.
Their soaring heights call to me
like nothing I have ever known.
When I step into those hallowed hills,
oh, how I feel at home, as if I belong.
The trees beckon to climb their limbs,
flowers beg one to stop and smell them.
And the birds seem to sing a special song
just for me.
Birds take flight and I want to join them.
To fly with the little blue bird,
see what she sees as she soars
high over the mountains and valley's.
I am one with nature
through The Great Smokey Mountains.
My heart beats like the ancient drums
the drums that beat out rhythms
that my Indian ancestors has danced to.
So I think I will stay forever in,
My Tennessee Mountain Home,
as Dolly put it so well,
and explore my roots more.
Author notes
This is just my thoughts and feelings within myself which is what Tender Wolf and Silent Cougar asked for. And just one of the prime examples of my free flow form.
I hope you enjoy.

This is simply breathtaking! I am not a mountain girl myself; I prefer the beach & ocean waves. I love forests, though, & I feel at home anywhere in them. I really like the way you talked about wanting to fly like the little blue bird. It made me think of your name.
Niaish Ma Eno......We love you!
