In the inkiness of our bedroom
Our hearts and bodies meet
Our ears are half cocked
Listening for sounds of little feet
There is no audible sound
Except the rustling of the sheet
Stolen moments, we have few
Except in dead of night
Interrupted liasons by a little boy
Are our endless plight
But we checked and checked and checked tonight
And he was tucked in tight
Our rendezvous continues
At a comfortable pace
We are enjoying
Invading one another's space
When suddenly I look up
And spy a little face
He smiles and innocently asks
Why is daddy squishing you?
Thus ends our night of marital bliss
thwarted again by you-know-who
