Waves pull in and out;
an endless motion of peace.
Nature's song so pretty.
Midnight skies reflected in
seas of inky black hue...

A very nice tanka. Thank you for putting the form in the notes! My only complaint is the subject matter. Just because it's based on a sort of surrealistic concept and makes me wonder instead of reflect... if that makes sense at all. I find that my favorite poems of these forms are the ones that are inspired by the simplest of things. I hope you consider entering again with maybe a different form or option! I feel like you would be very good at option 3!
Best Wishes

Seriously. You have skills. It's like you just whip this out of nowhere!

Lovely poem. I've actually never read a piece in this form before. I think it fits perfectly with the picture. Good luck in the contest.
